Re: Hawaii vacation lens

I find my Minolta 100-300 APO D to be a great companion to my 16-80 CZ for these kind of travel trips. Fairly light and compact, it's there if and when I need it and not too burdensome to carry around if I don't. I also bring along my Canon 500D achromatic close-up lens for macro use on the 100-300 APO, not wanting to tote around my macro lenses on such trips.

I'm likely to also bring along either my Sony 35/1.8 or my Minolta 24/2.8 for evening or museum shots. Being obsessive-compulsive, I'm always hesitant to leave behind my Tokina 11-18, but I find that I seldom use it except when photographing historic old houses, cathedrals, palaces and castles. It's a fairly bulky lens to carry around, so advance research and planning for likely photo ops becomes important.
