Well, I would go for a Nvidia Quadro(2000/4000 if ever want video) or ATI FirePRo V4900(good and not expensive)

At about $160, this is very affordble.

because they provide 10-bit output for capable monitors, see http://www.imagescience.com.au/kb/questions/152/10+Bit+Output+Support

I'm not sure about the video, but I think that 10-bit output would be important for me. The D3 can do 14-bit output, and I would hate to throw away some of that detail. Of course, that means I need a new monitor, but nobody said that this hobby is "free."

Of course, I would need to verify that there are solid drivers for Win 7 64-bit. I know that in the past, ATI has had driver stability issues. That Adobe list of compatible graphics cards is important to me.

It is a bit confusing in Photoshop CS6 about Nvidia vs ATI, but for Premiere is not as we can see http://www.studio1productions.com/Articles/PremiereCS5.htm
