Re: warranty

I have one of the recent Samsung Galaxy Android phone and although I didn't flash any custom firmware, I did Root the phone to gain additional master access... in case i need to claim warranty, I'll reflash the original i.e. unroot or for those that have flashed any custom firmware, then reflash back to original firmware before sending the unit back for warranty. Not sure about the flash flag you heard about, but from where I am now and as to my knowledge from most retail stores, Samsung will not accept any claims if they find out the firmware has been in anyway, tempered with...

There isn't any custom firmware available for NX200 but I'm just worried if you changed certain settings and if you forget to change it / them back, it's gonna be a costly mistake for this could have saved some unnecessary arguments with Samsung service center....

i think you may have found the solution to removing recording limit, but just need to make sure whether this will void the warranty?

Of course using a custom firmware would void the warranty – if Samsung checked such things and used it as grounds to deny warranty service or returns.

They don't. They even put a 'flash flag' counter system on their Galaxy phones and people have been flashing custom firmwares for months tripping that flag counter and there's no reports of Samsung checking phones for flagging.

It's very likely they have no such 'flag' counter or policy to double check firmware of a camera like the NX200 that comes in for warranty return or service.
