Planning Guatemala highlands trip - replace D700 w. m 4/3?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning a trip to the Guatemalan highlands, far off the beaten track, away from the main tourist stops, to do ethnographic documentation of traditional fiestas. I've done this before, in the film days, carrying two Nikon FM bodies and just three primes. A nice compact travel kit:

Everything is candid and the purpose is fine art documentation. In the past I'd travel by chicken bus and hopping on the back of pickup trucks. Guatemala today is dangerous so this time I have a guide/driver plus vehicle.

So - take the D700 plus a 28-105/70-300 lens kit (the 2.8 zooms are out - just too big) or some sort of m4/3 combo?

I have a GF1 20, 14-45, 45-200 kit. One possibility is trying to duplicate the old FM setup - add a GXi and take two primes - 20 and 45, plus the 45-200.

How much, if any, am I giving up in IQ? Forgot to add, I will be taking a p&s, a Leica D-LUX 5.

Any comments are greatly appreciated.
