advices for portrait shooting with SD15

Hi !

I'm going to shoot my first portrait session and I feel like I need some advices It's going to be outdoor in a forest. In your opinion, which lens would be better with my SD15, the 70mm 2.8 or the 17-50 2.8 ? Also, is a tripod useful in those portrait shooting ? I'm worried about loosing sharpness at 100iso due to forest low light, is it a real concern in fact ? Feel free to share your experience and advices for beginner in this subject !
Thanks a lot

Emile,

here is my 500px account where you can find a few photos of Paris : http://500px.com/M1L0U
