NEX-7 is great

I see yur concerns are around lenses. I now have the 16mm, 24/1.8, 18-55, 50/1.8

If you desire a bit longer there is the 55-210 or 18-200 - I do not like the later as it is a bit heavy on the NEX even the 7.

There is also the two fantastic Sigma lenses 30mm is supposed to be outrageously sharp. The 19mm should be very good too.

If I were you I would buy right now

NEX-7 with kit lens. This does good job. Nothig fantastic but I thikn on par with the Olympus 12-60 (which is said to not be fantastic either but very decent)

Then get the 50mm 1.8 for portraits and the 30mm for walkaround prime.

If there is way you can get 16mm on the cheap it is worth it. You can get couple cheap adapters that turn it into fish eye or very wide angle lens. These are good enough for photos from trips. Fish lesnes are ususally not tack sharp anyway. (The panasonic is sharp but is also a bit more expensive like 8 times)

Here are some pictures to inspipre

Here is gallery with I think relatiely big pictures
