Please help with a photo for my Daughter's Senior Yearbook page

Due to an injury to my Father I was unable to get a photo of my daughter during the play itself [yes, I shot the dress rehearsal but her hair and makeup and a few other things were changed for the play].

A friend sent me this photo with permission to change it as needed and use it in the yearbook.

However, I have been unable get an acceptable skin color from the JPEG photo attached.

I would appreciate any assistance you can give and then if you have time explain how you did it as till this photo I thought I was fairly good at correcting photos. I use PSP X4 but also several other programs and can usually translate many other programs to my needs.

My Daughter played Babbette [the feather duster] in the "Beauty and the Beast". Her dress was black [shiny satin], the apron white, her eyes very blue, skin is normally pale, and hair medium to dark brown. I'm including a reference photo for her skin.

Here are the photos [the first is the photo I need help with]:

For some reason this is not working right I [I am not sure what I am doing wrong]. I hope you can get the photos!
