What is wrong with my set up?

I need some help from more experimented people.

I bought a SB-600 flash this afternoon because I need to do some product pictures for a personal project.

This is my first flash unit so I am really a noob.
I am also a total beginner at product photography and softbox things.

My setup is as follow:

  • Fuji X100

  • Nikon SB-600

  • Nikon SC28 cord

  • two soft boxes

  • a kind of small table with a white semi-transparent white plexi plastic

  • I Have put the table with the white support at about 30 cm from the ground, which is made of brown wood.

  • The flash is set in manual mode at 1/64 (as I understood..this is the smallest power - I can get) and is just put on the wood ground under the table.

  • The fuji is set at Iso640 / F8 / 1/125

  • White balance set with a grey card

Here is the pictures I get as a result:

Here is the picture I get after 30 sec editing...but which I wish to get directly without tweaking:

Could someone help me and tel me his guess why I get a redish picture instead of white?
