So was this what the rumors were about? I know some thought it was the E-7.

Anyhow, what do you all think of the TG-1? I've been tempted by rugged cameras before, but typically the IQ is sub-par and the lenses are slow and without wide angle. Their only selling point is where you can take them, but this looks like it could be a standout camera in the category.

Despite all the corporate conflict and the remaining questions about what to do with all this nice 4/3rds glass, it does seem that Olympus is slimming down their lines and concentrating on key cameras rather than diverse lines. The XZ-1, TG-1, E-M5, E-5. These are all quite unique in their own right.

How do you view their strategy and do you think the TG-1 will be acceptable for those of us who are spoiled by good zuikos and DSLRs?

What if the hokey pokey really is what it's all about?
