Windows can also write files like these, its called thumbs.db. Fuji ought to have been aware than OS X can do this and chosen to ignore it as they may well do with thumbs.db.

As a technical note, these files are only created if you look at the folder in the Finder, if you just insert the card to import images then eject the card they will not appear.

If you don't want the system to write to your card then write protect the card before connecting it to your computer, there's a little switch on the card.
