Who would be interested in a low cost FX ?

If Nikon would make a low cost FX camera, do you think could be of interest ?
Thinking in students, aficionados, or as a Pro-backup camera.
How to lower cost ?

  • no video, only stills

  • no live view, only optical

  • no motor (I do not have legacy lenses)

  • no built-in flash (I almost never use the internal flash, always use SB-xx)

  • no weather sealing

  • no alloy materials, just like the entry level DSLRs

  • no many direct buttons, maybe like a D7000

  • sensor ? I do think for many 12M is more than enough

Nikon commitment with DX lineup lenses is not clear, there are many gaps, and now that have to divert resources to 1-series, I doubt the gaps are going to be fill
