D800 Fashion Photographer Question

I was going to ask the forum if we have any fashion photographer considering to buy the D800?

I am refererring to the cross type sensors and their position on the focussing screen.

Let's assume we're gonna shoot in portrait mode, aiming for the left/right eye.

My perception is that the available cross type sensors won't help me much in the vertical shoot, since they are all concentrated in the middle-horizontal plane.

My gut feeling is saying this is a bad layout for shooting standing models or head shots.

Don't we need a few cross type sensors around the top of the vertical plane to nail the eye in a portrait mode shoot?

All I wanna avoid is the "center 'n re-compose" method that often gives blurry images. To say the least on this high res cam.

I'd love to hear your feedback on this.
