Re: Epson v700 vs. Nikon 8000

I have the V700 and the betterscanning 120 holder and with a little work you can dial in your focus with the holder. It is a pleasure to use with the glass. The directional height adjustment tabs work on the V700 holders but the film is difficult to hold flat. Be really careful with the antinewton glass and scratches. I only scan b/w and find the epson software very capable if you do everything in the professional mode with the curves and 16 bit. I also have a flextite and find that the grain is very different with both scanners and find the V700 can make some very good 16 to 20 inch prints from medium format. I probably wouldn't use it for 35mm.
