Actually the optics of my lens is very good however it had problems with its electronics. Luckily the main panel was changed and now I have no problems with it.

Since it has those magical Sigma colors, accurate focusing and at f8 my copy of the lens easily outresolves the 12MP of my 450D so I have nothing to complain about.

There's no doubt that the Tokina you've mentioned is said to be a very good lens but even my 600USD equiv Sigma well exceeded my budget (I paid my two months salary for it). Besides, considering that the Tokina is even more expensive and starts from 11mm it wasn't really an option for me. High prices, low salaries.. Eastern Europe is not the happiest place on Earth in this regard.
