Poor microcontrast on 24-105

Half the pictures look flat and colorless. The other half are OK. Depends on the subject and lighting. It is the most convenient lens ever made, but using it for years was my biggest mistake. If you want to do a reportage type photography and do not need the altimate IQ, go with 24-105. If your priority is IQ, go with 24-70. However, if I were you, I would wait for Mark 2. It may seem expensive at $2,300, but I believe it is the same price as of the original 24-70 when it was released ears ago.

Not to start another religious war here with the 24-105 lovers, but just to make you aware, so you could make your own decision. Good luck!
