It is a system

Every purchaser should consider the lenses they might need before buying a dslr.

I didn't with my first camera (film) purchase--and bought a Pentax Spotmatic. Before I was done I had 2 of them, and an assortment of lenses and stuff. I bought a Nikon F2, brand new, when they first came out. I was back to 1 lens...and my images didn't improve.

Now with a digitat slr I'm no smarter. I bought Nikon because of familiarity, and the thought that the old nikkor film lenses I had somehow had value.

If I were starting today I would look at Sony, Canon and Nikon.

Back in film days, I never regretted having pro grade gear. Now when they bring a newer camera out, it has a better sensor and works better at high ISO. Every time a newer, cheaper camera comes out I wonder if I should jump ship and buy a Canon, or a Sony. Or sell the un-born and buy a D-(whatever)

I'm delighted to say that I used a F828 for years; I have a NEX system too now.
