T3 Thermal Construction Considerations
I use my Canon XTi and 60D for Astrophotography (AP) as well as Landscape.
For AP usage, image noise caused by heat in the image sensor becomes a significant issue as the low signal-to-noise ratio of those faint fuzzy Deep Space Objects is always a problem.
A few days ago, I ran across comments in a few posts in different astronomy forums that claim the T3 was designed with some consideration for heat transfer from the sensor to the case due to some properties engineered into the case plastics.
This sounds interesting, for a mainstream commercial DSLR, as I couldn't find any similar mention about the construction of the newly released 60Da Astrophotography Camera.
Anyone hear of this thermal plastic design consideration ?? Is it anything more than a folktale or rumor ??
