Re: Canon Canon Map Out Hot Pixels On Compact Cameras?
I contacted Canon Australia twice with the same question about my S95. Both times they said they'd get back to me with the answer but they never did so I gave up and worked out how to use the CHDK software to map the stuck pixels on still images instead. It doesn't actually remap the sensor so it doesn't work on video, but this didn't worry me. Figuring out how to set up the bad pixel correction in CHDK can be tricky. You can read how I did it on the CHDK forums here

although it could conceivably be slightly different for the S90. For the S95, it requires you to
1. Install CHDK and always use it if you want stuck pixels removed.
2. Shoot a RAW test image that shows up the stuck/hot pixels.
3. Process this through Raw Therapee to get a .png or .tif file so you can get the coordinates of the bad pixels.
4. Add the offset (55,15) to these coordinates and create a text file named badpixel or badpixel.txt with entries on each line specifying the coordinates - in my case I just have a single entry of 2002,1370
5. Set CHDK to average out the bad pixels.
Hope this helps.
