People are getting way too obsessed with FPS.

Back in the film days, a lot could be and was done without a motor drive.

In fact, for most photography except some high-end sports and wildlife (for which you would tipycally be using a D4 anyway) shooting single frames is a better option.
Personally, I have hardly ever used continuous shooting in over 10 years.
Try it.
Refrain from blasting away.
Think more.
Compose better.
Do NOT crop.
It will make you a better photographer.
