Hi Greg, thanks for the reply!

I just got back the lens from the service. The error was caused by a strange kind of front focusing which increased with subject distance. It means that on 50cm it had only 2cm front focus but on 10m it focused to 1-2m..!

Because of the varying degree of the error software correction couldn't help.

(The service screwed up it anyway: their focus tuning program had frozen and the lens didn't recognized any camera body anymore!)

This was their fault and that's why they offered a main electronics change in the lens for free, of course. With the new main panel now focusing is perfect at any distance and at any focal length.

So if anybody has the same issue (varying degree of front focusing changing with subject distance) only software calibration cannot solve the problem.
