It might work with an OVF, where just basic small packets of information is sent and then projected into the OVF, not the whole image. A bit like Fuji's X100 ovf thingy.
You mean slap on a rangefinder OVF (which won't zoom) and incorporate wifi for data to be projected onto the image in the OVF?
Fuji's hybrid OVF is (1) a series of lenses aimed parallel to the main lens on the camera and looking at a slightly different image than the sensor is, combined with (2) a small LCD or other display device projecting information onto the image via some mirrors (I assume).
That sounds like it would be bulkier than just slapping on an EVF, wired through the hotshoe.
