Manual lenses worth the trouble?

Hi,

I'm thinking about getting myself a cheap Sony/minolta to emount adapter with a lens from sigma (18-250 with OS) which I can also get very cheap.

I come from the point and click side of photo shooting and would like to get a little more serious. I really like the 18-55 kit lens, but I'd like a little bit more range. The 18-200 lens is a bit too much for me to invest in right now, so I thought the sigma lens + adapter (+-250 dollar) would make a nice starter combination.

Since I have no expirience with this at all, I was wondering how much extra hassle the manual focussing & aperture control is compared to shooting with a native emount lens? Will I still be able to take relatively quick photo's or will it take significant tweaking for each shot?

Thanks!

Karl
