This is 100% correct.

For instance, it is just common knowledge stray pets in the US are treated way better than homeless people.
Better cared for, better accounted for. Not looked at as parasites.

And once you get a totally controllable pet, how is a hobo getting in the way of any value?

No joke, you are better off being a pet (not the least in California) than a human.

And of course compulsively taking a photo of your favorite just naturally follows.
Why bother with pesky humans?
