Sorry, misunderstanding. Dodging and burning back in my B&W darkroom days were kinda gimmicks too - poor choice of words.

What I was really trying to say is that HDR BY DEFINITION is about scenes that exceed the dynamic range of the sensor. Single image "HDR" isn't really HDR, but it is good post processing technique to bring out the range of tones in a single image...
