Show Off Your Kit Lens Photos

There are a lot of nice shots here. The 18-55 is a good lens and the 16mm ain't too shabby either.

I took a bike ride this morning and spotted this big guy at a shop full of beautiful pottery and other cool stuff in Leucadia, CA. I wanted to take him home but he wouldn't fit on my bike--plus he costs almost as much as an NEX 7. Oh well. At least the C3 and pancake fit nicely in a jersey pocket.

Here's another shot I took while on my ride.

the kit lens. a nice "emergency" lens.
definitely capable. but it cannot be the only lens in one's lineup.

I agree that the 18-55 lens is a compromise, but for me, the word emergency is a bit harsh. This is not the optic of choice for a sports or portrait photographer. As a general travel lens I think it does well.

Monteverde Frog Pond, Costa Rica. NEX-3 18-55. Wife just shined the cheap LED flashlight they gave us slightly off of the frog slightly. Eye of the frog was pretty much dead-center of the frame and just cropped in LR3 for composition. Otherwise, SOOC.
