How do you think Minolta Rokkor 50mm 1.4 compare to Jupiter 8/9 50/85mm at f2.0?
I love the character of the Jupiter.

Minolta Rokkor 50mm f1.4: very reasonably priced and good for portraits wide open with dreamier look but sharper if needed when stopped down towards f2

Canon 50mm f1.2 Rangefinder (LTM): more expensive but again, great glow and dreamier look at f1.2 and sharp from 1.4 on. Some say the 50/1.4 in the same series is also very good and for 1/2 the price of the f1.2. I thought about the Canon Noct, 50/0.95, but it's much bigger and alot more expensive.

For the older world look and colours, I like the Jupiter 9 altho it is 85/2. You can find them quite well priced altho variations and quality are all over the place. Having said that my copy is not the best quality and is a little loose but with a hood, it contains the flare quite well.
