I'd suggest you to try one out for a day or two and experience for yourself the differences. Keep it simple and shoot similar styles with both the 7D and your existing camera using the same lens. While trialing the 7D, don't get too hung up on any of the fancy AF modes unless you are convinced that they are working for you. I'd think most studio photos work best with a single AF point. This forum will have you spinning from confusion with all the opposing opinions. Some forum contributors will be very positive and others very negative about the 7D based upon their own experiences. The IQ from the 7D can drastically vary depending upon many things including the camera body and lens alignment along with the usual competency of the photographer.
