As a former journo I have to call this a PRICELESS IDIOCY...

I must admit that I have also found that statement about people likely to be disappointed by Olympus not opting for a new larger sensor blah blah ... extraordinary, even bizarre. It would seem that any camera reviewer with a good understanding of digital camera history and the current camera markets should know that that suggestion (opting for a bigger sensor) would be much more appropriate many years ago. At this time, when sensor technology finally delivers what M43 needs to hit big time (and with even better things to come as technology gets better), that suggestion makes zero sense IMO.

I believe that may be in response to some of the rumours that were flying around before the release of the E-M5. Which included claims of a bigger sensor, claims about a "trine" type sensor and so on. Many such rumours were reported here.

A larger sensor of the same technology generation will always give better results. Personally I think that those who are claiming that for example the E-M5 is as good as the D800 are the ones with a problem. After looking at and comparing dozens of RAW files, I am pretty much convinced that the difference between the e-m5 and previous best mFT cameras is at best minimal. Though I will be happy to be proven wrong.
