What's with all this D400 FF talk?

I really don't see it happening. Why would Nikon create an entry level FF camera, when they have a built in market for a well built, high end DX cameras?

Would Nikon really expect everyone that has seriously bought into the DX format to just move up like that? I have a nice combo of DX and FF lens. If I ever update my camera (D300), it won't be to FF. If I did, I'd never use my DX lenses again - and the market would be flooded, so resale would not be an option.

There's been no solid rumours, just hearsay, but it seems like half the speculation is that the "D400" will be FF. Where does this come from? I haven't seen one solid argument for FF yet (other than "I have a friend whose cousin's brother knows someone who works for Nikon..."). I also don't see many people wanting the FF D400, either.

Would anyone on this forum actually prefer a FF D400?

Love my D300, but I'll always look at more pixels, better AF, video, solid build - in a DX body.
