Who in their right mind would want IS these days anyway, you have cameras out there with ISO values creeping past 200 000!!

IS will add weight as well as complicating the optical and general design, trough the use of more lenses and electronics in the barrel.

The added complexity, R&D and production cost, would create an even MORE expensive lens (and more for you lot to whine about ).

I'm glad it doesn't have IS (and I use an 1ds mk II, which is barely usable at ISO 1600!) and I am sure this will be the most awesome 24-70 ever produced.

Why can't people just say "Good going Canon! Even with one earthquake, one Tsunami and one messy nuclear disaster, you have pulled out three cameras and three lenses, wow!".'s "too expensive", "lacks , works differently from version 1 (wtf?) and is just utter crapola, even though it hasn't been released yet.

Just shut up and enjoythe news, you whiners, if you want "L", prepare to PAY!
