Noise & benefits from reducing pic size from 16mg to 8mg via menu before shot taken..
Tx, I haven't heard of pixel binning on a P&S either. I almost wish users of 1/2.3 sensors would reduce the max. megapixels to 7 or so.
I look for 2 things when I upgrade my p&s every year. Max zoom in mm, and max pixels. So far every increase to either of these has resulted in better image quality, in good daylight. Low light, maybe maybe not.
Edit: Pixels aside, they really need to provide a setting for less noise reduction so you can do it externally, with Noiseware or something similar.
