Re: Lens for A65

After some thoughts I am mainly thinking of these choices:

1. Sigma 17-70 mm F2.8-4
2. Tamron 18-270 F3.5-6.3
3. 18-55mm F3.5-5.6
4. Perhaps some Sony 18-200/250 mm

I don't really need very long tele lins but it would be fun with the Tamron lens and the fun part of photography is what is most important for me. Therefore the Tamron lens has been a top candidate. But it would also be fun to have the excellent Sigma lens, after reading some about it I am sure it is a great lens.

Both these lenses are quite heavy though and I appreciate low weight. I went to a store nearby and put the Sony 16-50 mm lens on a A65. They didn't have the Sigma but this lens is somewhat comparable in size and weight. For me it was acceptable but I really prefer the weight of the 18-55 mm Sony kit lens.

The kit lens doesn't have the range of the Sigma though but together with the Minolta 35-105 mm I already have, which is also light weight, I am starting to think they will make good companions. I have read reviews about it at the link below and many seems to really like it if it wasn't for the lack of wide angle.

So what do you say, will it be a good choice (the kit 18-55 + 35-105mm)? I am not that concerned over the price difference between these alternatives. More important is picture quality, performance (AF speed etc) and weight.
