For those with a new D800 - is it still really only focus and recompose?

I hate focus and recompose. The 5D3 has solved that it seems. There are 41 high quality focus points all around the viewfinder. The Nikon is still playing the role of the British with 3 straight columns marching in a row right down the center of the viewfinder.

I am waiting for and strongly want the D800E. I also strongly want to end focus and recompose.

Who has some experience with the new D800 and what say you? Is it still a focus and recompose camera?

If so, I may look toward the 1Dx to basically have a Nikon D4 quality camera with the viewfinder focus layout I have been longing for. Hands on feedback is welcome
