Just a few shots from our long walks around town with the G11. While there, I checked out the new G1X in several shops along the Strip with high hopes of picking one up with the money I didn't waste at the casinos:) I was a little taken back by two things: 1) Each shop priced it at $899USD ($100 over MSRP!) and they wouldn't budge, and 2) the size was a little intimidating after several years with my G11 which is always on my belt in a very thin, compact belt case. I still like everything I read and hear about the G1X, but it wasn't meant to be (at least on this Vegas trip).
Each of these was shot in Positive film Mode in My Colors. The G11 and/or the Positive Film mode sure ate up the blue skies of Vegas. I actually de-saturated some in PP.
We figured Oscar was from a different era! This was a very large marquee in the old downtown at the beginning of Fremont Street.

A popular plaza at the entrance to the New York New York. Lots of photographers from all over the world were gathered with me.

Love the TV show - Pawn Stars. Dropped in to have a look and was hugely disappointed in what I saw. Approximately 30-40% of the floor space is stocked with cheap souvenirs promoting the show. The rest is a mish mash of antiques of little value, a few silver dollars, some old jewelry, non-descript guns and an occasional interesting item marked "as seen on Pawn Stars". There was a line to get in, a roped off one-way path through the store and a concession stand in the parking lot. We were in and out in 5 minutes. Still enjoy the show though.

The Hilton Grand Vac created an interesting reflection, but I wondered how the birds handle it as they're flying near by - thud:)

One of our favorite restaurants is located in the Paris Hotel/Casino right at the base of this great Eiffel Tower replica. Excellent views of the Bellagio fountains and passing people from here.

They've restored and displayed these iconic signs from old Vegas along Fremont Street in downtown. Converted this to B&W in camera and then added the vignetting in Picasa.

Vegas is a great place for photography, long walks, world class shows and people watching (and for some - gambling).
