Capture One & LRoom

Hi all,

I have to use LR at the moment to process my D4 images, Capture One is my default...hope they get a move on soon as I miss it.

While testing the output between the two on my old D3 images, I see a huge difference in output style. This, even though no amendments to saturation, contrast, white balance, sharpening etc have been applied.

I use exactly the same output details, ie sRGB etc.

Two converted RAW images uncroppped and untouched attached to illustrate.

To my eyes, either Capture One over cooks everything or LR is faded and less punchy? (Or both!!).

Is one obtaining a better, more accurate camera profile?

I have always liked the output from Capture One but this is making me wonder if it is too much...not natural.

Any thoughts?

Best wishes,
