not nonsensical

The original poster from the Korean forum discovered this behavior while doing time-lapse shooting at night, which qualifies as real world photography. The suggested test is simply a way to reproduce the camera's non-ideal behavior in a controlled manner. This kind of test allows 5D MkIII owners to test their own unit under the exact same environment. In turn, we get to find out whether all 5D MkIII bodies show similar behavior or it is limited to just a few copies. There was another post in the same Korean forum where a user stated that the 5D MkIII's metering fluctuates during daylight shooting when he covers and uncovers the top LCD panel with his hand.
