The same advice was being given about the D90 when it was long in tooth with an expected replacement rumored to be soon.

I bought the D90 and loved it. When the D7000 came out, it looked like a very nice camera, and I was still happy with my D90 and had several months worth of fun with my D90 under my belt that I would have missed if I had waited for the D7000. I have no regrets.

Your advice is good.
