Re: Casual dress at weddings

The general (unwritten) rule of dress in Australia is black. Many times I've had to remove a second shooter from my images and its a lot easier when they are wearing black.

For beach weddings we prefer beige. Often finding we blend in with the sand easier. AIPP (the prime organisation in AU) sell black clothing. For studio work black T shirts are the go.

I've often seen photographers dressed in jeans and T shirt. I'm not sure why they prefer to think all they need to do is produce "amazing" photographs to satisfy a client. Some of the work I've seen from casually dressed photographers is exceptional but a lot of it is very average.

In the end, I guess its up to the individual how they choose to present themselves. We do after all get paid in advance for weddings!
