The reason Sony did not include tethering...

... must be the Eye-Fi card.

I just bought one (the Pro x2) and I was very surprised how well it integrates with the camera. You get a "wireless" icon that even indicates when it's uploading.

I set it up on my computer with Lightroom's Watched Folder and on an Android Samsung Galaxy 8.9 Tablet and it works just fine. With a remote release (my remote commander from a700) I'd say it's just as good as the old tethering, for my purposes at least.

Of course I wish it were a USB3 connection with live view to my computer instead, but this is the next best thing and the ability to transfer files to either my Galaxy 8.9 or iPad is just great.
