Re: Normal lens for a full frame first timer: 50mm 1.4 or 35mm 1.4?

Speaking of the ideal set of lens, I fear I may have overlap once I get a normal lens since I've got the 24-70mm f/2.8 but a normal in my limited experience is the better walk around lens.

That's also good input about clustering. I have an 85mm f/1.4 and a 50mm might be to close.

However, having said that, as per another comment above, if I can spend the ~$1600 on the 35mm f/1.4, another $200 wouldn't be a lot for a 50mm f/1.8.

So, I ordered an 50mm f/1.8. If it proves inadequate, it's an affordable and small enough lens to keep.

Once I've had some time with this 50mm, I'll drop into a shop and try out the 35mm.

Thanks for all the feedback!
