Since the newer cameras are getting cleaner and cleaner at high isos it seems like using 4.0 could now work for outdoor sports when before we had to use 2.8. So I started checking out zooms and got all excited about the Sigma 100-300 4.0 zoom, it got a great review from Photozone.

So I went to B&H site to see what it would cost and found out it is discontinued, went to Sigmas site and could only find the variable aperature 100-300 lenses. I am very disappointed they stopped making a fixed 4.0 100-300 lens.

A recent magazine review I read suggested the 120-300 f2.8 OS is the replacement for both the 120-300 f2.8 and the 100-300 f4. The price is pretty simmilar, but there may also be a 100-300 f4 OS on the way.
