SX40 HS: Lightning Photos

Yesterday I tried to capture them using the CHDK motion detection script and the intervalometer scripts, but I was disappointed by their performance. When the Motion detection script was used the camera fired well after the lightning. And the intervalometer script (set to interval 0s) also had latencies inbetween shots.

So today I just kept my SX40 on tripod, set it to MF, and continuous mode. Pointed it at the sky and held down the shutter button. And I was able to capture these. Hope you enjoy them.

Straight out of the camera, did not post process them,

Thanks.
