The lamp posts at this car wash have an acrylic or plexiglass spheres and they displayed a "rainbow" pattern. An interesting effect that was not visible to the naked eye though you may need to click on the image to see this. The dramatic contrast with the blue sky and clouds is due to the use of the Circular Polarizer as well.
How is this picture tied to the indoor shots further down? I took it from within a few feet from the table I was seated at when I took the pictures below.

Our friend stacking his chicken burger with curley fries.

Warm lighting reflected from the wooden floor.

Four different pictures taken with three different cameras.

Interestingly, without the use of a flash, the G1X chose a very high ISO setting of ISO 800. This resulted in some loss of detail or perhaps even a little smearing of details. But another interesting thing to note is that at ISO 800, the G1X produced fairly similar noise and smoothing as the G11 did at ISO 80 though the s95 was closer in terms of smoothing action. As usual, the G11 image was a little brighter. In this shot, there's really not a lot about the G1X images that are particularly exciting. But the one with the flash is probably the more appealingly lit image.

The shot that I chose to keep was the one from the G1X with the 580EX II Speedlight flash. I probably should have cranked the flash up a little more that I did. I had it reflecting off a tall ceiling so not nearly as much light was returned. It did add enough light for the camera to drop the ISO and to illuminate the subject slightly better. It's by no means a great shot ...but it's not bad either.
