Re: *ist D is it to old?

I enjoyed the series..

Is the *ist D too old? Well I see the image quality is quite good, though dynnamic range on some of the flowers petals doesn't quite seem to cut it.

I'd guess that the K5's has a better viewfinder as well as the LCD on the back is quite alot nicer/easier for chimping critical focus.

I'd guess that sometimes it can be necessaryl to crop an image for this more pixels come in handy.

I'd guess that weathersealing could come in handy especielly if you opt for the 18-135 lens you have a pretty wide range FL range with WR at least.

The sensor maybe be less prone to attracting dust, I think I've seen dust as being a problem on the early DSLR-s

Shutter actuations getting more than 50,000 on my K200D that make's me feel that it's just a matter of time before something goes haywire.

I really like the output of my 10 mpx K200D, but the viewfinder insn't the best, it's shutter is pretty loud for street and dynamic range is very tricky to optimize so all my images on bright days with a subject with white surfaces have to be exporsure compensated, this affects DNR even more..

I'd upgrade now if I were you, if that's what is question is all about. That's what I'm doing, the K5 has the sale price till the end of this day.

I wouldn't mind keeping my K200D running for as long as possible, As backup and as a way too keep CCD senror in my image making arsenal.
