Re: New Tele-zoom to finish out my lens set?

I shoot mostly travel, architecture, and landscape, so i lens of this range would be used for say, a building detail, or a flower, etc. Not so much sports, wildlife, events, or kids. This is why i feel a 'fast' lens (70-200 f2.8, or 200-400 f4) would be unnecessary.

I'd be quite happy with a lens that does well at 5.6-8.0 as its sweet spot range.

I love my 70-300 vr, and its a great lens for the price. But you should rent a f/2.8 70-200mm before you write them off.

For a little more then the nikon 70-300mm you can get the Sigma f/2.8 70-200 HSM II (Non-OS/VR) (if you can find one still available).

The subject isolation just cant be done on a slower lens like the 70-300VR.

I haven't touched mine since i picked up the sigma f/2.8 70-200.
