Please tell me why an outdoors shot looks great but my lighting shots are terrible?

Product photo question:

I notice in viewing my pictures that the outdoor in the sun shots tend to look appealing while my shots under the lights can look appalling. not sure why this is but I've been bored by the way my shots are turning out. What am I doing wrong? Don't feel bad telling me... I asked. Something just isn't quite right.

Outdoors

Indoors under the lights

The few things I can put my finger on are I wish I could see more of the wood grain on the headstock and fingerboard and maybe some highlight on the bottom edge of the body. Other than that I'm stumped. All I know is I'm not quite happy with the effect I'm getting. Thanks for any pointers.
