Right you are. I hadn't looked so closely at the colour noise since that wasn't the purpose of my post. But yeah, I too see slightly more colour artefacts (mostly blue) in the Nikon shot. Good call.

I suppose it all depends what you're looking for. Personally, I find that the additional texture details in the D800 shots really make prints look fantastic. To each their own.

No, not what I'm saying. There is a comparison with BOTH at ISO 3200 (green bottle tops) and yes, I definitely see color noise at what would be considered a rather moderate ISO,. D800 at 6400 even more so, not so much with the Canon.
