BH-55: "acceptable" with Gitzo GT1542T or way too big?

I'm in the market for a tripod and was looking at the Gitzo GT1542T (traveler). Conventionally, if I were to go for a RRS ballhead I suppose I would go for a BH-30, as it seems that ballhead is the proper size for the travel tripod.

However, I want to future-proof myself in case I also get a Gitzo 3 series down the road (if I go beyond 70-200mm). So I thought perhaps it might just be a good idea to get a BH-55 now so I can make 1 ballhead purchase for both the GT1542T and say a GT3151.

My question is: Would a BH-55 simply be too ridiculously big on the GT1542T, like super-top heavy and look stupid? Or is it actually still acceptable? I would be willing to carry the extra pound or so the BH-55 has over the BH-30 as long as I know that it is functionally sound and doesn't look completely stupid when attached.

Thanks!
