Elinchrom D-Lite noisy fan
I recently bought an Elinchrom D-Lite 2. To my surprise the built in fan kicks in very quickly and makes a horrible noise. It is well known that the previous version of the DLites had no fan and were prone tot overheating. But in general they worked fine without forced cooling. If I switch on my strobe with on with standard reflector, placed horizontal (Power 2.5, modeling light proportional) the fan starts after 5 minutes. Even when not a single flash has fired. With Beautydisk at 45 degree angle this is even quicker. At that time the strobe does not feel hot, just warm.
I was wondering if this is normal and I am curious about experiences with the fan behavior in similar setups.
