Re: 45mm 1.8 focus speed on EP-1?

I have this combo and it works faster than with the 20mm indeed. There is a catch though. The lens has a tendency to scan the whole range sometimes and get stuck in one side or the other. It's quite rare and certainly not a defect but I suspect the rather large AF squares and old AF logic of our olders cameras don't help here. I suspect we'd benefit from the newer cameras here to really unleash its speed potential.

Still a very pleasant recommended lens.

Can anyone comment on the focus speed of the 45mm 1.8 on the ancient EP-1?

Not looking to do action photography. The GF1 (fast body) + 20mm (slow lens) combo was plenty fast for my purpose. So if the slow EP1 + fast 45mm is in the same ballpark, that's good enough for me. Any thought?
